Autumn Banner Embroidery PDF pattern
Welcome Fall with the Autumn Mandala Banner, from “A Banner Year”, the seasonal stitch-along from the School of Wool Facebook Group. This wool appliqué project is a great stash buster for your wool and felt scraps. Instructions are included for sewing the banner as well as a low-sew option for mounting your piece in a hoop.

Materials needed to make this project:
- 15”W x 20”L piece of linen, canvas or quilting cotton for banner background
- or 16” x 16” piece of linen, canvas or quilting cotton for mounted hoop background.
- 40-50 3” x 3” scraps of wool or felt for appliqués in: Browns, greens, golds, deep red, magenta, purple and teal.
- Embroidery floss in: autumnal colors that coordinate and contrast with your scraps
- Thread
- Light Weight Double-sided Fusible Webbing or freezer paper
- Craft glue
- Wood dowel rod, ¼” diameter, 15” long
- 1 yard of twine or cording
- Wooden embroidery hoop, 14” in diameter
- 16” x16” piece of wool blend felt for backing the hoop
